Toolmaking: The basis of a quality
moulded part is a quality mould tool. Our team
of toolmakers are motivated by the satisfaction
of working to the highest standards of workmanship,
balanced by years of experience and youthful technological
know-how equating to a comprehensive manufacturing
facility.
Facilities:
Operating from our dedicated 6000 sq.ft facility
in Brixham, Devon we run our tooling production
facility in support of both our own plastic mould
production services, custom tool orders and tool
repair.
Applications:
Hymid-Multishot specialise in toolmaking for the
plastic moulding industry in aluminium, pre hardened
or fully hardened tool steels suitable for a wide
range of configurations of plastic components.
Tool cavities are either CNC machined or spark
eroded directly from CAD/CAM models or drawings.
We can offer single shot, two shot, insert moulding
& overmoulding tools in a wide range of cavity
configurations to suit your volume & cost
requirements. Tools can be built with cold feed
or fully integrated controlled hot runner systems.
Hymid has extensive experience in the manufacture
of tooling to suit a large range of polymer substrates
such as ABS, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, TPE,
TPV, LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, HIPS, MIPS, GPPS, P.M.M.A.,
SAN, PBT, EVA, Nylon and most other grades of
thermoplastic.

Providing a fast turn around to your specifications
whether you are looking for minor modifications, repairs,
custom design & tool manufacture or a complete production
solution from design through to moulded product delivery.
Total
Solutions:
We take a total solutions approach to our customers
requirements and can handle all aspects of the tool
making process from design & prototype through to
inspection, testing and commission. We spend time with
our customers before we start a project to ensure that
the design, materials, choice of polymer mix and project
scope are all well defined as well as supporting our
customers with onsite commissioning, training and maintenance
after the tooling manufacture.
Cost:
We understand that cost is an issue for all our customers.
At Hymid Multi-Shot we take the time to address design
related cost issues such as the choice between aluminium's
or steels for tooling construction. Having years of
experience in volume production of plastic components,
we understand all the cost issues associated with injection
moulding. This experience enables us to assist our clients
in finding the balance between reduced cost & volume
production.
Reporting:
With the ease of modern day communication afforded by
the internet we find getting our customers involved
with production progress is easier than ever. We are
happy send 3D animated drawings to help customers visualise
each stage of the design process, [e-drawings], and
send tool progress & inspection reports periodically.
We find that keeping our customers involved with every
stage of the process delivers a higher level of service
making problems easier to address thus keeping costs
down.
Tool
Repair:
Whilst we design tools to last forever, it is inevitable
that tools will eventually require attention. Whether
we made the tool or not, we provide a full toolmaking
modification, refurbishment and maintenance service
from our dedicated service repair & machining facility.
We also provide a rapid response for breakdowns and
urgent overhauls.
