Measureable Innovation:
A Development Journey
As a nationally recognised expert in technical plastic injection moulding, Hymid brings the technical capabilities and sustainability focus needed to help turn challenges into opportunities.

A FOUNDATION OF TRUST
Mantracourt, renowned for its leadership in wireless protocols, sought to reimagine its product range to meet modern demands. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed vulnerabilities in global supply chains and accelerated the need for innovation through necessity. Mantracourt seized the opportunity to redesign its handheld devices, creating a new modular product range that would be more advanced, sustainable, and future-ready.
Hymid’s expertise in technical plastic injection moulding made it the ideal partner for this endeavour. Together, the teams developed robust, technically sophisticated modular enclosures that became the foundation of Mantracourt’s refreshed product lineup.

CLOSE COLLABORATION
Mantracourt Electronics Ltd, a leading innovator in wireless measurement solutions, faced two critical challenges: continuing innovation during a global lockdown and achieving greater sustainability in manufacturing. Seeking a UK-based specialist with a shared commitment to these goals, Mantracourt partnered with Hymid Multi-Shot Ltd. As a nationally recognised expert in technical plastic injection moulding, Hymid brought the technical capabilities and sustainability focus needed to help turn these challenges into opportunities.
As British-based SMEs, Mantracourt and Hymid share a vision of revitalizing UK manufacturing. By leveraging their proximity and technical expertise, the two companies aligned to create products that were not only more innovative but also built on more sustainable business practices. This collaboration highlights the power of partnerships: two companies working together to deliver results greater than the sum of their individual contributions.

SOLUTION-LED PRODUCTS
With a clear vision of their new product ranges, Mantracourt embarked on a comprehensive design development cycle, creating new product features to enhance versatility and usability to provide a more intuitive user experience. Hymid played a pivotal role, leveraging its technical injection moulding expertise and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) capabilities to create modular enclosures that were both durable and visually appealing. This innovative approach ensured the products were well-suited to the demands of modern industries, whilst also improving ease of manufacture.

ProxImIty AND AlIGNMENT Of Values
A unique feature of the work undertaken by Mantracourt and Hymid was the decision for regular face to face meetings, enabled by their geographical proximity. Whilst it was possible to have conducted these remotely, being in the same room, handling the same parts and working through the issues in a constructive manner made a difference. The alignment of each company’s values also helped – both wanted a positive outcome for each other and saw the project as an opportunity to develop close and lasting working relationship, rather a time-limited event.
The focus on collaboration between Mantracourt and Hymid resulted in significant improvements to both finished products; better equipped to meet the changing needs of customers, particularly in
industries that were heavily impacted by the pandemic.
The partnership also demonstrated the power of collaboration in driving innovation. By working
together, Mantracourt and Hymid were able to develop products that were not only more advanced but also more sustainable and cost-effective.

"We had to ensure we had the
coordination and orchestration
of the remainder of the
production facility to ensure
that the supply of components
was unaffected."

Hymid
