Hymid is ISO13485 certified as a testament to its commitment to quality, Hymid has achieved certification in the ISO 13485:2016 quality standard for medical devices. ISO 13485 is specifically tailored to all aspects of Medical Devices including Design and Development, Production, Storage and Distribution, and Servicing. Through extensive design capabilities and injection moulding expertise, Hymid can add real value to medical device projects. Hymid recently underwent a successful re-audit of our production facility, which now includes the latest additions as part of our continuous improvement and investment programme; a Class 7 Cleanroom and a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
Expert DfM
Hymid’s design team have an intimate knowledge of the injection moulding process and the materials best suited for medical devices. We understand the importance of medical devices working as intended every time, without exception. Through our Design for Manufacture (DfM) process, we utilise our expertise to help optimise your design and ensure any required features are seamlessly integrated, so your product can be reliably produced during manufacture.
Our design team are often able to suggest small and subtle changes that can drastically improve the reliability, functionality and aesthetics of your product. Examples include hiding unwanted weld lines, improving structural rigidity, optimising ergonomics, and many more.
Hymid has commissioned a Class 7 Cleanroom
As part of the ongoing investment in our medical device capabilities, we have recently commissioned a Class 7 Cleanroom. The cleanroom contains an Arburg injection moulding machine which is capable of both single and two-shot mouldings, as well as micro-moulding. Hymid's cleanroom boasts ample space for the production, storage and packing of medical components, whilst maintaining a low particulate environment throughout the process.
Many medical devices do not require a cleanroom for their manufacture, we have a range of facilities, that are not in a specified clean environment, to meet your needs and to serve the medical and healthcare sectors as the partner of choice.
Continued Investment in our Capabilities
Hymid is always looking for ways to better serve our medical customers and indeed all our customers. Alongside our certified Cleanroom, we have invested in a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), which is also ISO 13485 certified. Our CMM enables components to be measured accurately and ensures they are within the required tolerances to meet the exacting standards of the medical and healthcare industry.
